Cruise season is in full swing, and many will be calling on their private islands as ports. You may be wondering what exactly these private islands have to offer. Well, they all have amazing beaches and delicious meals, but you may be in for some surprises as well. Here's a peek at four unique offerings that are in the Bahamas.
Perfect Day at CocoCay
Royal Caribbean recently revamped this beauty, and it really has something for everyone. Most notable are the floating cabanas you can rent for the day and the amazing water park, complete with the tallest waterslide in North America and a wave pool. If you prefer to relax while the kids play, you can also enjoy their swim-up bar and the largest freshwater pool in the Bahamas! Here is a photo that I took from our Harmony of the Seas stateroom balcony just this past Saturday. It gives you an idea of how big this island is – a playground for all ages.
Castaway Cay
Looking to add a little Disney magic to your trip? This private island in the Bahamas is an exclusive port for Disney Cruise Line and is perfect for your little ones and those of you who are Disney Kids at heart! On top of all the water activities, you can also rent bikes to ride around the island, do some shopping, or if you're feeling a little competitive, complete a 5K challenge and receive a completion medal at the finish line. Also, don't be surprised if you also run into a few of your favorite Disney pals while you're there!
Ocean Cay Marine Preserve
MSC Cruises not only created a wonderful island getaway but also intentionally made a conscious choice for sustainability. The island is a marine preserve meant to protect the diverse local wildlife and restore the natural beauty of the Bahamian waters. They are currently working with Florida universities to help rebuild coral communities. You can immerse yourself in the beauty by paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkeling through the pristine waters, or renting an ocean view cabana and taking a sunset champagne cruise to relax and unwind.
Beach Club at Bimini
So the beach club really isn't a private island, but it is a private club for Virgin Voyages' guests. Remember that Virgin Voyages is an adults-only cruise line. Sustainability is also top of mind with naturally sourced materials in the Mediterranean-inspired setting. You can 'dive in' to adventure with snorkeling or shipwreck diving or book a beach yoga session before turning up the fun with a DJ-led pool party! I've attached another picture taken from our recent trip to this private club. Beautiful and serene!
So which private island is calling your name? All of them?! Just kidding. But really, where could you picture yourself heading off to right now? I think I'd like to head back out to one of the floating cabanas at CocoCay. Once you've decided, click here to schedule a call with us to begin planning your perfect getaway!
