Hello, I hope all of my US friends and family had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and that you were able to enjoy something fun or out of the ordinary. As if anything this year is NOT out of the ordinary, ha! In Southern California, we were certainly treated to more “out of the ordinary” with 117F degrees. Some said it got up to 121F at their homes! We are certainly feeling our fair share of gratitude as we sit inside a cool home, even if we did not do the usual backyard BBQ or beach day with a group of friends.
How many of you regularly look at photos on your cell phone or computer? I love that my photos are automatically organized by date and that I can quickly go back a year or two ago and re-live wherever I happened to be in the world on that day. Similar to Facebook memories, but I don’t have to remember to upload them.
The picture here is exactly one year ago, a stunning Alaskan sunset while aboard the Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas. It was a short cruise, five days from Vancouver, but enough to remind me why I love cruising to Alaska. It’s truly the last American frontier with untouched natural beauty, fabulous sunsets, and of course, delicious wild Alaskan salmon on the menu.
Ahhh…I have the next trip planned in my head as I type!
Stay cool and enjoy these last weeks of summer safely and in good health.
